Treaty education is important and desired by many across the Northwest Territories (NWT). At present, treaty education in the NWT is inaccessible and it is not designed by youth for youth. With their $100,000 award from the AIP, the Treaty Talks NWT team will bring education to the land by creating an On the Land Treaty Education Camp for youth and elders, and other members of the community from across the Northwest Territories. Treaty Talks NWT’s first on the land program will begin in the Autumn of 2022 in one of the 33 communities in the NWT.
