Reviving Inuit Cultural and Traditional Values is a transformative initiative led by the Qimutjuit Men’s Association in Kuujjuaraapik, Nunavik. This project addresses food insecurity and strengthens economic resilience by revitalizing traditional Inuit practices. By reconnecting community members with ancestral knowledge, it fosters meaningful engagement, self-sufficiency, and cultural pride. Immersive knowledge-sharing camps will bring together respected Elders and Inuit youth to pass down sustainable harvesting techniques, safe food preparation practices, and traditional methods of smoking fish and meat. These intergenerational activities preserve Inuit heritage while enhancing the community’s ability to provide for itself through land-based knowledge and skills. This community-driven initiative lays a strong foundation for long-term food security and cultural continuity in Nunavik.
