Dene Language Workshops: The Stories We Tell will host videographer workshops in three or four communities within the Deh Cho Region of the Northwest Territories. Within these workshops, youth will have hands-on opportunities to gain camera and sound skills, followed by a chance to improve these skills through joining the documentary or helping to record the language sessions with either Elders or fluent language speakers. The multimedia format will enable wider community access to the program through online learning. 15 to 30 youths, along with fluent language speakers, will be invited to participate in a three-day workshop. They will work together to record conversations, stories, simple greetings, and statements. The team will create a final product that will be shared with the communities.
