The Nunavut Law Program (NLP) aims to provide a Nunavut-based legal education program to Nunavummiut to increase the number of lawyers with strong Inuit foundations. This project was awarded $140,000 to provide graduates with professional learning opportunities with a strong foundation in Inuit traditional law. Students will participate in a circumpolar exchange with the University of Lapland along with cultural activities. Students will also receive support and bursaries. Graduates of the NLP program will receive a JD (juris doctor) degree and the unique knowledge and skills needed to practice law in Nunavut.
