The Arctic Inspiration Prize Charitable Trust is delighted to announce that Jasmine Redfern will be joining the AIP team as the program’s inaugural Chief Executive Officer.
Ms. Redfern is a community-builder committed to advancing awareness and visibility of the uniqueness of the North, including Inuit and First Nations. Her career spans leadership roles in human rights, arts and culture, and health, including serving as Tribunal Chair for the Nunavut Human Rights Tribunal, and most recently as legal counsel for the Legal Services Board of Nunavut. She holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Saskatchewan.
“Jasmine is a dedicated leader in her community and an advocate for the North. We are thrilled she is joining the AIP team to help us live our mission of maintaining and expanding this ground-breaking program that is by the North and for the North,” said Wally Schumann, Chair of the AIP Trust.
Ms. Redfern is known for nurturing relationships with and harmonizing diverse groups of partners and stakeholders to take action on community-changing initiatives. Her strong relationships across the North will be instrumental in helping the AIP reach even more communities.

This work will include raising awareness of the new Arctic Inspiration Youth Prize. Formerly titled the Youth prize category, this is a new prize that will award up to $700,000 every year to youth teams to enhance life in their communities.
The next AIP Awards Ceremony will take place on May 7, 2024 in conjunction with the Arctic Indigenous Investment Conference in Whitehorse, Yukon.
