Save the Date! Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami and the Arctic Inspiration Prize to host events on May 13th in Ottawa

February 13, 2025 – Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami (ITK) andthe Arctic Inspiration Prize (AIP) announce a partnership that will see Tapiriit, the annual Inuit-led networking event now in its 15th year, and the 13th Annual AIP Awards Ceremony take place on May 13, 2025.

“Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami is happy to join AIP in Ottawa to bring together two celebrations highlighting Inuit and Arctic excellence,” said President Natan Obed. “Tapiriit means united, and we look forward to sharing Inuit Nunangat stories and traditions with our friends again this year.”

This is such a wonderful opportunity for Canadians from north and south to join in celebrating what’s possible when communities dream big about their futures. And with $3.7 million up for grabs, we can’t wait to see what innovative ideas Northerners put forward this year,” said Wally Schumann, Chair of the AIP Trust.

The AIP 13th Annual Awards ceremony will be taking place at Rogers Centre in Ottawa at 2:00 pm. Stay tuned for more about the AIP ceremony, including how to access tickets and this year’s performers. In the meantime, nominations are now being accepted until February 24,2025. There are two prize categories: $1 Million (1 prize for 1 team) and AIP (up to $500K to 4 teams). There is also a youth-specific prize – the Arctic Inspiration Youth Prize! This is for youth-led teams where up to 7 teams can take home up to $100,000. As the largest annual prize in Canada, the Arctic Inspiration Prize (AIP) inspires, enables and celebrates the achievements of the people of the North.
